  • Martyr

    She called herself a martyr  But one that was a ferocious non-starter  On the eve of her death  She was determined to take one last deep breath  Then ran to catch her charter 

  • Warmth

    Silence compounding  Bitter winter cold.  Breathing  Warmth into my home 

  • Purpose

    Does it serve purpose?  Does the sun shine down on you?  Are the cosmos right? 

  • Gardeners

    She is keeping tabs  Do not let her get away  Carnivorous plants 

  • Swinging

    When I first saw the swing set  I wondered how high I could get  All I wanted was to fly  And tell everyone hi and goodbye  So I can go and buy a baguette 

  • High and Mighty

    Imagination and ideas whirred in his head  Only wanting to paint  He never knew what he had said  But he worked without complaint 

  • Painting

    I wanted to paint the kitchen red  My mother told me I was out of my head  It was my favorite color  I loved it like no other  I only wanted to get into bed. 

  • Hoax

    I laughed at all his bad jokes  Like the one about the hoax  I went along with his game  To try to save my own name  But at the end, he said, that’s all folks 

  • Sink

    Meaningless banter  Equilibrium upset  Sinking like the moon 

  • Dull

    As I rack my brain  Remembering life with you.  Now cold.  Sullen.  Done.
