The Playground

PHOTO PROMPT © Lisa Fox

The smiling face at the top of the slide told me everything I needed to know.  I would never leave the park and no one would make me.  I belonged here.  Belonged with the metal, the tinwork, the swings.  I just needed to find a way where no one would notice the fact I was living at the park.  Temperature changes never bothered me and I definitely never got sunburned.  The main problem would be making sure no adults saw me.  More often than not, children always kept my secret.  Children loved ghosts and above all, they loved me.

Kate, your story brought a tear to my eye. Of course a playground would be the perfect place to enjoy their ghostly life. I like the way you said that most kids kept the ghost’s secret.
