Change of Scenery

Country life.

Photo Prompt © Rochelle Wisoff-Fields

As soon as I stopped and looked over my shoulder at the house I had just left, I knew I was finally home. Finally where I belonged. After spending way too many years in the hustle and bustle of the city, I was finally surrounded by the peace and quiet I had always craved. I closed my eyes and listened to the birds singing and the leaves rustling in the cool breeze. The instant I smelled the smoke, I knew Frank was back. That he had found me and all I could do was turn and run into the trees.
