Stalker

“Did he get mad?  What was it like?  I’ve never seen Kyle mad.  Does he yell?  Scream?  Stomp his feet?”  Angela poured another glass of wine as she seemingly played twenty questions.

“It was kind of interesting to see him mad.  I had never seen him mad either.  But yeah, he was upset.  But he wouldn’t listen to anything I had to say.  So hopefully he’ll loosen up and come back so I can tell him what really did happen.”  I leaned back into the couch and tried to forget what happened.

Kyle and I had only been seeing each other for a few weeks and I hadn’t even though we were even actually dating.  I had solely gone to get coffee with a friend, Brian, and Kyle and completely lost it.  He stopped by the apartment I shared with Angela and let me know how he felt.  I didn’t even know how he found out I had coffee with Brian, but he was hot about it.

“When he started to yell, I think the neighbors called the police and the lights from the squad car spooked him and he ran.  I kind of wish they hadn’t because I didn’t know where he was going to take it.  Was he going to come back tonight?  Next week?  When?”

I didn’t know this one fight was going to change the course of my life.  From here on out, I would have to be proficient at the laws of stalking and harassment.
