• Home on the Range

Growing up on the range  Sounds mighty weird and strange  I was born in the city  Where I was used to feeling itty bitty  But now my entire family is completely void of the stock exchange

  • Betrothed

The loud hum buzzing of the jet  Bringing a man I had never met  He wanted to marry  The first woman who would carry  Everything he deemed relevant

  • Stealth

He always wanted to disappear  Hoping to walk quietly like the deer  Quiet, stealthy, light  As if there was no knight  In shining armor, out on the frontier

  • Stars

When the stars go dark  And nothing was visible in the park  I heard the animals start to sneak  But was too afraid to peak  Wondering how to best disembark.

  • Unscathed

PHOTO PROMPT © Peter Abbey  As the sun went down, I knew the problems were only beginning.  The problems the night would bring were so final, I knew I wouldn’t be able to get through them myself.  If only Richard hadn’t backed out at the last minute, I would have a little help in dealing with Samantha.  I knew her obsessions with the ocean…

  • Spree

The day I hurt my knee  I wanted to go on a shopping spree  Instead, I sat down and cried  When my tears finally dried  I could tell I was finally free
