The Snowstorm

PHOTO PROMPT © Lisa Fox

The last snow of the season was always my worst day. It always reminded me of my father and it always reminded me I could no longer use the weather as an excuse to stay inside. The interior of my house was nice and warm and everything outside of my comfort zone was terrifying. The horror of the real world was what had enticed my father and what had ultimately caused his death. When the snow started melting, I started to paint on my mask of happiness knowing no one had seen through it yet. But only time would tell.

    Indeed true.

I feel that this person could use a good friend to pull them out of their shell. I fear their fears will further entrench the longer the aversion to “the outside” continues.

Outside comfort zone is indeed terrifying.
Hope the protagonist gets over loss and fear.
