Going Green

PHOTO PROMPT © Brenda Cox

I knew the car had to be mine the moment I saw it.  It wouldn’t be as inconspicuous as I wanted to be with the bright green, but maybe standing out was a way I could stay hidden.  I planned to hide in plain sight.  I hated green, but I knew my brother wouldn’t come looking for me in the ugliest green car ever made.  The moment I put my cash down on the greasy diner table, I knew I was free.  What happened in the backyard wasn’t my fault, even if James didn’t want to admit it was his.

The brothers are carrying some baggage between them. Each has their own story, and the truth is probably somewhere in between, just like the baggage. Interesting story.
