As the time counted down to zero, I began to calculate what my next move would be. I needed to be the first one out of the gym and to my car. I just hoped Kori would not be waiting for me outside. If I could make it to my car safely, I could get out of town safely.
Luckily, I had planned ahead and had all of my belongings packed into my trunk just in case this very scenario came to pass. I tried to remind myself Loveland was not the town for me and the fact I had been wanting to get out for years. I just wish I was leaving on my own accord instead of being forced out by Kori. I always knew she would be out for revenge after Scott, I just didn’t think it would come so quickly.
Kori and I had once been close friends, but when Scott had broken up with her because she had cheated on him, everything had suddenly been my fault. I hadn’t even known she was cheating, but if I had known, I definitely would have called her out on it. Now I was running for my life. It wasn’t until the last few weeks that I had realized just how dangerous she was. But it wasn’t until the final buzzer rang that I realized she had been stalking me. For months.
