My Mother’s Corner

PHOTO PROMPT ยฉ Rochelle Wisoff-Fields

I never understood how my mother could work in her โ€˜cornerโ€™. I wouldnโ€™t exactly call her a hoarder, but she never cleaned out her desk. Every time I tried to borrow her computer for a school project, I quickly became distracted by every single thing at her desk. Why did she have a receipt from 1989? Was the dinner so delicious she couldnโ€™t bear to get rid of the fork that came with it? I had to touch everything on her desk before I even started working. Until the night I found my real birth certificate. Who am I, really?ย

Oh, that was unexpected. What a discovery! Her mother’s desk will never be the same again for her I expect – and that’s a sad thing

I don’t know who you really are. But this was nicely done. ๐Ÿ™‚

This sounds like a great opening for a novel. Sort of Hank Phillippi Ryan style.

Reward for being a snoop. If mother is still alive, ask her. But then you would have to admit to being a snoop. ๐Ÿ˜€
