“It is very personal. How can it not be? I was attached!” I knew I was practically yelling, but I couldn’t help it. I just couldn’t believe what Flynn had just revealed to me. Everything I had worked so hard to separate myself from my family, from my past and Flynn was bringing it all back up.
“But I didn’t realize it was him. He never really told me who he was looking for.” Flynn was acting like he didn’t just drop a bombshell on me and it was almost more infuriating than the fact he had given my father details about my life.
“How can you be telling any stranger about my life after all the things I have told you about my family?” I turned back to my closet and started throwing more clothes into my suitcase. It didn’t matter what I took, I just needed to get away for a few days. My entire wardrobe had changed since I originally left Texas so that wasn’t such a big deal. I hadn’t gotten the energy to buy too many clothes as I wasn’t sure what I was doing or where I was going.
But my father was relentless and would do everything he could to find me. The fact he was so close after all these years was unnerving. I wondered how he had tracked me down. I didn’t know how far revenge would take him, but if I didn’t leave now I would die.
