“I knew there was always a chance he was going to panic. But I was trying to hold out hope he was going to be all right. That he would survive. Carry on.” Before I could finish, Sasha interrupted me.
“This has always been your problem. You trust everyone way too much. Trusting them to a point of putting your life in danger. We all know Ethan would never put anyone but himself first.”
I tried not too sigh too loudly. Sasha had no idea what was really going on. If she knew who Ethan really was, I knew her story would be different. That she would admire Ethan instead of loathing him. I just didn’t know how to bring her into the circle without betraying his trust. If he knew I was even thinking about telling Sasha the entire story, my life would be over.
“I know you are holding back. There is something you are not telling me. Before long, I will know what it is and why you are keeping secrets. And the end won’t be pretty,” Sasha said softly, but menacingly.
As she walked away, I knew what to do. Both Sasha and Ethan had to go. Away from me and out of town was the easiest solution, but I knew that was not far enough. If I was going to complete my mission and save my life, they both had to meet an unfortunate accident. Soon.
