My Mother’s Flowers

PHOTO PROMPT © Rowena Curtin

I knew as soon as I saw the pansies, I knew they were exactly what my mother would have wanted.  But I wasn’t sure anymore if I cared what she wanted.  She had left several weeks ago and hadn’t come back home.  I knew I had to get on with my life.  I had expected this to happen, the question was always when.  I bent over, picked up the plants and headed toward the front when I froze. She was back, but something was wrong. As her eyes twitched, I suddenly caught on, but my jump wasn’t quite fast enough.

Very complex situation going on here. So many things running through my mind of what could be going on.
