Tricks

I had always been good at tricking people and most of it was because of my cousin.  April lived with my family off and on for years and was constantly on the wrong side of the law.  As April kept getting in trouble with the local sheriff, she quickly became adept at hiding her misdeeds.  April was the Queen of Mystery and the Queen of getting perfect scores on tests.

It wasn’t until I was a junior in high school that I realized she was as smart as her test grades.  That she would rather people think poorly of her than to fit into someone else’s box.  Her being “on the wrong side of the law” was really her interning at the sheriff’s office.  She was allowed to keep up her bad girl persona so she could keep the police in the local high school drug trade.

I knew there were drugs in school and I had managed to keep my name and my fingers out of the pot.  I knew my limits and I knew where April could take me.  Take me while on her crusade for justice.  I had no problem her in her crusade for justice as I was able to take my drug dealing elsewhere.  What the police didn’t know was April and I were splitting the profits.
