Drive Me Crazy

“I knew she would drive me crazy the very first time I laid my eyes on her. I think it was the way she strolled in like she owned the place,” I knew I was talking to no avail as I knew Tony wasn’t really listening. All eyes were on Virginia as she was led out of the campus center by the police.

“How could you have even thought that about her? She’s so nice. Kind. A real go-getter.” I knew Tony was trying not to sigh as Virginia left our sight completely. And what I hoped would be forever. She seemed to have this effect on people. They always seemed to come under her spell and everyone who did fell fast and hard. Tony was her biggest fan, but even after six months, I couldn’t figure out how it happened.

The rest of the week went by in a blur as the only talk was about Virginia and the rumor mill was swirling. I knew the only way to get to the truth was to get into her apartment without being seen. I could almost swear I was the only one not under her spell so I didn’t need anyone getting suspicious of my actions. But lucky for me (or maybe it was good timing), her apartment was unlocked, and I was a firsthand witness to the magic inside. Before I knew it, everyone looked at me with stars in their eyes. I knew exactly how to flaunt it.
