I had always had the tendency to wander away. It drove my parents crazy and I can’t count how many stores where I had to find a security guard or employee to help me back to my parents. As I grew older, I realized I had a desire to get lost, mainly because it allowed me into places where I wasn’t allowed. I managed to get into many backrooms to snoop around and build up my ammunition. I knew there was a conspiracy brewing in our small town, I just needed to uncover who was behind it.
My suspicions began the day I started eleventh grade. It was the day I saw all the teachers converging on the school at once. They seemingly all got out of a single car which clearly could not hold as many people. Where did they come from? How did they all get fit in one car? I knew there was something going on when every teacher seemed to shimmer in the sunlight. The teachers walked toward the school with a distinct aura following them. I blinked a few times just to make sure I wasn’t seeing things and the teachers continued toward the front doors. I knew there was something going on beyond what I could understand and I knew I had to get the dirt on what was happening to our teachers. Or what our teachers were taking. Looking back, I wish I didn’t know anything. Hadn’t seen anything. Everything was too disturbing.
